Why are we feelin’ so fly like a G6?

I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for Pop music. I have the stations in my car set for 96.3, 102.3 and 92.3 (in order from most listened toleast). There is no doubt, that in any given day I hear (at least twice) the song “Like a G6″ by the Far East Movement. While blasting the bass as loud as it can go, there’s still the question of…what the heck is a G6?

The answer has been revealed.

According to a recent interview with MTV News, group member Kev Nish said, “A G6 is not a Gatorade flavor. It’s not a car, convertible, four-door. It’s not a watch.”

This disproves many theories on what we all thought a G6 was. It turns out a G6 is a moniker for the Gulfstream G650 8-passenger jet, which has become the new luxury vehicle and status symbol for various artists and other celebrities.

Therefore, “feelin’ s0 fly like a G6″ is a metaphor for feeling really “fly” meaning exceptionally good, in urban slang terms.

Are you feelin’ fly like a G6?
