Sully’s Court: Boston College is rising

Five rising: Boston College: A lot of people are excited about Steve Donahue and the Eagles after consecutive victories over Indiana and UMass. Central Florida: The Knights are 7-0 including a victory over Florida. Duke: The Blue Devils emphatically showed theyre No. 1 by beating Michigan State and Butler back-to-back. Providence: The Friars are 8-1 after beating Rhode Island 87-74 Saturday. Virginia: The Cavs are just 5-3 but beat Minnesota and Virginia Tech in back-to-back games.

Five falling: George Washington: The Colonials have lost four in a row to Hampton. UNC Wilmington, George Mason and Navy. Not exactly an RPI boosting stretch. Maine: The Black Bears lost consecutive games to Quinnipiac and Brown (at home). Theyve been disappointing. New Mexico State: The Aggies have lost six straight including a heartbreaker in overtime to New Mexico Saturdayl. Niagara: The Purple Eagles have had a long run of success but now theyre 2-5 and lost to Marist Friday night, the first victory of the season for the Red Foxes. Oregon State: I feel like Im picking on the Beavers but a loss to Utah Valley State followed by a loss to Colorado puts them in five falling.

This weeks Final Four: Duke, Pitt, Kansas State, Michigan State

This weeks national champion: Duke
