HERALD SPOTLIGHT: Feddie Davey

Having the opportunity to watch many of the athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties when they begin playing football at the youth football level, the Miami Herald will continue to shine the spotlight on many athletes during the pre-spring, spring and summer.

With the chance to see the athletes away from the football field as well, we can bring you up close and personal with some of the top prospects in the nation – right here in our own backyard.

Don’t forget that the exposure continues on FACEBOOK (Herald Recruiting) and via

PLAYER: Feddie Davey
 YEAR: 2012
 SCHOOL: Norland
 CITY: Miami Gardens
 POSITION: LB
 HEIGHT: 5-11
WEIGHT: 195 HEAD FOOTBALL COACH: Daryl Heidelburg

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: As we roam South Florida throughout the spring and summer, we will continue to find athletes – a lot luck this quality prospect – who for one reason or another – has not received the attention he deserves.

Considered to be undersized to play the linebacker position at the next level, Davey has everything you are looking for in a football player. He is athletic, has good speed and is a very hard worker. In addition, he knows enough about the position that he knows exactly where the flow of the play is going.

An instinctive playmaker who registered 135 tackles and 8 sacks for a Vikings team that made it to the 3A state title game.

Reminds many of Dr. Krop tackling machine Marvin Jean, who had tremendous instincts, a nose for the ball and was a good student in the classroom – much like Feddie (NOT FREDDIE)! Also, like Jean, there is a chance that colleges would want him to move to safety.
